Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Huxley’s classic is set in a future governed by World Controllers and one in which all people can be content. The protagonist, Bernard Marx, longs to, and does, escape this perfect society.
This book is many things. It is the psychology of the human needs of the thinking person, political/social qualities of life, ethics of scientific development and dreams. And it has been over-analysed for decades. My advice is simply to enjoy a cracking good story.
