Book Review: Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith

A fascinating insight into totalitarianism.

This book is set in Stalin’s Russia: a society that is supposed to be perfect. The tragic consequences of a lie such as this are explored through the inevitable results of a police force and indeed whole society, being forbidden to admit the existence in this ideal country, of brutal murders committed by a serial killer. This is a book with an excellent plot, so don’t be put off by the writing style.
